Both give kids adaptive practice and show parents how it's going, but they're built for different families. This page tries to be fair to both.
IXL covers far more ground than Kiwi Tutor: Math from Pre-K to Calculus, Language arts from Pre-K to 12th grade, plus Science, Social studies and Spanish. If you want one service from preschool through high school, or Language arts and Social studies practice, IXL has it and Kiwi Tutor doesn't.
Is Kiwi Tutor cheaper than IXL?
For more than one kid or subject, usually. Kiwi Tutor's family plan is $10/mo for every subject and up to 5 kids. On November 2, 2026, IXL's family plans started at $9.95/mo for one subject for one child, and cost more for more subjects or kids.
Does Kiwi Tutor cover the same subjects as IXL?
No. Kiwi Tutor has Math, Spanish and Science for elementary-age kids. IXL also has Language arts and Social studies, and goes up through high school.
Can we try Kiwi Tutor first?
Yes. The free plan covers Math with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division for up to 2 kids, with no card.
